After seven months of winter, the sun in Italy was exactly how it should be, blinding and hot and exposed. I went on tour with my football team to Rimini, which was a 70s resort town with an endless beach on the Adriatic Sea. The water and sky were surprisingly blue.
The experience was pretty hilarious. I was the only American girl with a dozen Brits in Italy and we pretty much just laughed a lot, ate pizza and gelato on the beach, sun bathed, played soccer and drank pretty heavily in the evenings. There was a sizable amount of banter.
The field where we played was covered in daisies, and I started making daisy chains, which I haven't done in years. I am so easily thrilled by flowers at my disposal.
